Business Strategy

1. Cannot read your blog after competitive strategy.

2. Good five forces. (No fix needed)

3. You should explain why focus and why differentiation.

4. Good value chain description. Who works at this company? What do you do? That is the process you should select.

5. Thanks for listing several ISs. I need you to select the ones that support the business process you choose. LinkedIn can be the IS that supports the hiring process.

6. Added information regarding a new merger that occurred during the semester to further prove Daiichi Sankyo uses alliances.

(Michael) An issue I identified is ensuring that the CMO, Daiichi Sankyo, and our European colleagues are well-informed on current shipments. This requires constant communication which can be tedious and time-consuming. To minimize this issue the company uses Microsoft Teams and Outlook to exchange emails with each other throughout the production and shipping process. I recommend the Apple iMessage application for this problem. It is easy to access because an iPhone can always be in your pocket or handbag and also because the interface of the application is simple to use for communicating. The result of my recommendation can lessen the time consumed trying to relay a message to everyone involved in the shipment of products.

(Nick) The company can use more cloud integration, both in cloud database storage and with cloud computing integration. At the moment, if information is needed about logistics, emails must be sent back and forth. Cloud database storage in this department will allow Daichii to store its data on a centralized platform with access via the Internet. That way, any colleagues around the globe can get the necessary information from any device in real-time. This will also reduce any risk of error when transferring information between parties.

As for cloud computing integration, one way this can be done is through virtualization. A virtual version of the company’s servers and systems can be run on employee’s laptops. This will allow employees to view data from warehouses, transport networks, and distribution centers. This will give you a complete picture of the process. Employees will see everything that is going on with all parts of the process, see if any issues might be occurring quicker, and make any decisions to fix them more efficiently.

(Jeff) With the vast improvement of AI, I recommend that Daiichi Sankyo look into implementing AI to improve various processes. One of the things AI can potentially do is to automate the creation of invoices which is essentially just imputing data into the form. Additionally, AI can automate the sorting of documents for our accounts payable department ensuring no invoice gets missed.
